I have appeared before more than 30 judges over the last 30 years, and I have never seen a so unqualify, [redacted by ed.] and bias judge. [redacted]
I appeared before her in two different cases. I am Mexican American, so, is she. I did not expect or ask for any special treatment, however, she treated with no respect, she yelled at me on several occasions.
In one of the rulings, she acted with no jurisdiction over me and entered an illegal judgment against me.
The truth and the law are the backbone of the judicial system in my cases she did not care about any of them.

I never knew a judge could change witness testimony to find a defendant guilty. I had two officers that gave the same testimony when it came time for the verdict the judge wanted me to come back in a month so she could go over the transcript. When I came back in order to find me guilty, she changed the testimony of officers to the opposite of what they had both testified to during the trial. When I tried to tell her she was wrong she snapped at me saying I had my time in court and should have said something then. I thought of appealing her verdict but then thought it would be a waste of time she lied so what would another judge do.

This judge is highly sensitive to the needs of all who come before her. Sympathetic, flexible, astute, and a hard worker, she certainly rates within the top 10% judges of I have experienced during 53+ years of trial practice in 21 jurisdictions.

I am an out of town lawyer and thus had no prior involvement with Judge Vallarta. Her demeanor is perfect. She is pleasant, listens to everything you have to say, if she disagrees or engages in discussion she is courteous and thoughtful. She offered her initial inclination to deny my motion but, as it was an ex parte application, took the time to review the documents and to do the research and then returned explaining, very clearly, how she had come to the decision to grant my request. I may be biased because she ruled in my favor, but I was there for more than this application and my observation is that if your case is assigned to Judge Vallarta, win or lose, you will not only get a fair shake but you will be treated with courtesy and respect for your position. Very intelligent and articulate Judge.

This judge literally has no idea what she's doing when it comes to domestic violence situations. The only thing She accomplished was convincing the alleged victim (me) never to call the cops during a domestic violence dispute again for fear of being treated the way I was treated in Villarte's courtroom. She put financial and emotional stress on me and my family. I was wrongly handcuffed/confined for not testifying against my husband.

I think the whole case was handled very poorly by this judge. I'm not even angry about the substantial fine I (the alleged victim) came out of the case with, though that's absolutely ridiculous and no legal advisor I've been to in the last few weeks has heard of an outcome like this in a DV case. I was not offered representation and had no legal advice to help me through.
