Arrogant, tyrant, appears to enjoy holding his 'superior status' over litigants. Roberts refused a 170.6 filed against him for bias when he allowed opposing counsel to represent the other party without filing ANY attorney retainer or limited scope paperwork. Roberts instructed the clerk to withdraw filed documents (claiming he didn't think it was litigants signature) ordering litigant to re-file doc's with a notary's signature (illegal, biased). When the litigant re-file one document (with notary signature) stating all the previous documents filed were his signature and to cease & desist making biased rules, Roberts ignored the document, never ruling on the sticken documents.

Roberts denied Judicial Notice of not one, but two valid Orders of Protection from abuse against a Petitioner (mom) stating "You expect me to take some other judges word in my court room." Roberts totally disregarded the orders and placed the minor child with a woman who had the two current Protection from Abuse Orders against her (protecting the minor child and the father from her) in another state. FYI - In doing so, the woman was arrested and is now facing charges for leaving that same child unattended in a locked vehicle for hours IN MONTEREY COUNTY. (Thanks Judge Roberts for actually PROVING how little you care about helpless children).

When a litigant asked Roberts a year after filing his divorce petition if he was divorced, Roberts answered "I don't know" stating he'd have to check and discuss it at the next appearance.

I gave a note to a litigant in court and Roberts "assumed" what it said (he was incorrect BTW) by making an announcement in open court something to the effect "Thank you for telling Mr. _____ in your note that __ __ __". Then Roberts attempted to intimidate me by chastising me in court for sending the note.

These Judges (especially in Monterey Co.) don't want the litigants to have any help at all and especially help that calls out illegal/unethical actions of a biased unethical judge. Roberts is one of the Monterey Co. judges who refuses to answer motions, both verbal and written, if he doesn't like them. You'd better be ready to fight hard if you step into Roberts courtroom as he doesn't ever back down, even if you know your statutes, rules, etc. He's the king and that's that. He should not be judge with such reckless, unethical and illegal actions. Thank God the minor child was Ok after king Roberts put him in danger!

Please keep in mind that each court may have different requirements. It might be a conflict of interest for your lawyer to help you request for "Peremptory Challenge."

Focus on problem-solving and be aware that “Judges and judicial officers have always been awarded 'absolute' immunity for their judicial acts. Absolute immunity covers even conduct which is corrupt, malicious or intended to do injury.” State ex rel. (Reference 1)."

This judge behaves like a tyrant robot. Seems he's more concerned with protocol and how you respond to him (don't piss him off) than the law and the child last. The child seems to be of no interest to him, unless it makes 'him' look good. Everything seems to be about 'him' the judge and not what's best for a child. Very egotistical and cold. Quite sterile and uncaring. He did appear to read the documents though but was more interested in if you presented the issue properly than how it would impact the child when pro Pers were presenting evidence. You think he would give them some slack since not attorneys. He'll say words (e.g.,. excuse me, I meant... ) very monotone and without feelings. His whole demeanor is very monotone without feeling. I watched him try and hint to a person what he wanted them to say, but was very brutal about the way he went about saying it. ex: "What do you want me to do..." When the guy didn't get what he was hinting at, he mocked him. Very demeaning and rude. Acts as if he believes he is King. No qualities of being fair and impartial at all. Its all about him.

[Redacted by Ed.] his rulings are NOT fair and makes orders based on his mood that day. He is hot and cold and unpredictable. He does NOT rule on the best interest of the Children. He will NOT read your declaration or case history. If your Child is in danger, he doesn’t care. He will deny your emergency order even with proof and hard evidence. If you’re a Female, you’re lucky to have Custody. He’s Pro-Father. It’s unfortunate, but it’s the truth.

This Judge is biased and Pro-Father. He will make a ruling without even knowing anything about your case or reading your case history. He will grant the abusive parent custody, usually the Father and then the Mother who is the non-offending parent will not only lose custody, but be stripped of all her parental rights including phone calls for years. I am going on 3 years since I have seen my 2 daughters who are now teenagers. I have a misdemeanor on my record and no CPS reports or abuse and my Girls were striving in school on the honor roll and playing sport when I had full custody for about 2 years until the Father took them. During Coronavirus , my ex had me falsely arrested and kidnapped our Girls from Nevada and then the courts shut down. During the Pandemic he brainwashed them and I couldn't get into the courts or do anything since we were all locked down in our homes. Originally, my ex lost custody because CPS substantiated emotional abuse on the Girls and I was granted full physical and legal custody and granted a move away order to be closer to my family. My ex and his wife are both in the national child abuse index and still have custody. The Judge refuses to give them back to me and even stripped me of my phone calls for no reason. It is SEVER INJUSTICE. My ex's wife called 911 last year and said my ex was abusing her in front of the kids and she wanted them to leave. Last week, she was arrested for domestic battery on my ex in front of the kids. My Attorney filed for an emergency order for custody with supervised visitation to the Father. DENIED. This county is so corrupt and I have read all about it and the kickbacks they give each other. This is sick and ruining families and innocent children who are being left in harms way and in the hands of the abuser. I need help and don't know where to turn. We have been in court since 2016. EXTREME INJUSTICE!!!
I had a review hearing, learned I had a new judge that morning. It was Timothy P Roberts. I’ve been in court since 2012. My judge was normally Lavorato. I had full custody and lived in Nevada. My ex kidnapped my kids across state lines during coronavirus after having me falsely arrested. He has now brainwashed them and I haven’t see n my 2 daughters for 3 years. I showed up for my review hearing on zoom and within 5 minutes, Timothy Roberts made a final order granting my ex full custody. My ex lost custody because CPS substantiated child abuse years ago. He’s in the national child abuse index! The neighbors and teachers call CPS once a month on him for Domestic Violence with his ex. I have no record, no abuse or CPS reports against me, no drug charges, etc. My false arrest charges were dropped. This Judge not only gave him custody, but stripped me of ALL my parental rights including phone calls. I have not spoken to my now 12 and 13 year old girls in 3 years. What can I do? I need help! This judge knew nothing about my case. I’ve been in court for 10 years. My ex is the abuser and now brainwashing my Girls. His wife even called the cops on him for abuse, but no one does anything!! Very fair. Child advocate first and foremost. Listens to both sides and is intuitive about what lies truly beneath the nonsense. I trust his judgment and wish more family courts were this civil. My experience has not been as smooth or as judicious as what I've witnessed here. He understands the weight single mothers carry.

Divorce is tough. No one wants to agree so we ask a complete stranger to make grown up decisions for us. Single parenting is difficult on everyone but what I’ve found with this judge is he is truly on the side of the child. What is best for the child is ultimately where his decision will lie. As for money, he is pretty fair in splitting.l

Great judge! Very logical, fair and great at listening to both parties. I’m reading some of these comments and clearly they were on the “losing” end and I can assure you it’s because they were either not prepared or there was a reason he made the decision he did. He is definitely not against women! He was my judge and extremely fair! He tends to side with righteousness so if you aren’t a total loser parent and honest about how much mo eh you make, you are fine if he’s your judge.

After 1+ years of collecting proof I couldn't make more $$ DURING Covid lock downs, he made his judgement without reading a word of my response & PROOF (State of Calif. shut my business down). Because it was heard through ZOOM, due to ongoing Covid precautions, I was NOT allowed to CLARIFY anything (I was muted)

This judge is rated a 0. As a paralegal in Monterey County I find this judge to be awful. He never makes a decision, when he finally does it is ALWAYS wrong. He just continues hearings which in turn cost the client more and more money. He NEVER comes down on the parents when they are wrong. REMOVE HIM~~~

This judge HATES women and you will lose your kids even if you are the non-offending parent and your ex is the offending parent. My ex got full legal and physical custody and CPS substantiated child abuse against him. I have NOTHING! NO CPS reports against me even and he has 32! WTF is wrong with MOnterey county family court! I haven't seen my daughters in almost 2 years. He was a new judge and made the order the first hearing we met him for the first time. SEVERE INJUSTICE!

He is a very biased judge , hates women and makes all decisions in dads favor. He defined me by a ten minute incident rather then take into account twelve years of a loving bonded relationship I had with my grand daughters . His lunch hour was calling and gave me zero time .
He will never listen to you if you are not an attorney . No rights for the ordinary citizen .
Do not vote for him next round he is not a fair or even compassionate man . Cruel.. vote him out

It was like there were two prosecutors, one defense counsel all of whose motions were denied, and no judge in the court room. He does not even care about the appearance of propriety.
