Frost isn't a very good writer. Some of his opinions, particularly those which have to do with stays of executions in Ohio are just ridiculous. Turgid doesn't begin to describe the verbosity of this judge. And even worse, the lethal injection opinions have an air of absolute imperiousness.

And, in one of this guy's opinions, he actually stated that the state's use of a medical doctor in an execution procedure violated Equal Protection because, get this, the doctor wasn't part of the written execution protocol. I was not aware that the EPC micro-managed the lethal injection process in such a manner.

Activist and ardent anti-DP nut case. He just issued a stay for OH death row inmate. Case: 2:04-cv-01156-GLF-MRA Doc #: 947 Filed: 07/08/11 Page: 1 of 60 PAGEID #: 25928 Because Plaintiff has demonstrated a substantial likelihood of succeeding on his Equal Protection claim, this Court finds the motion for injunctive relief well taken. Obviously FROST hasnt paid attention to the Blankenship execution in Georgia. There the state substituted a new drug days before the execution. SCOTUS denied all appeals arguing the same equal protection claims. FROST will be summarily reversed next week.

I can only second the previous comment. It was a pleasure to be before Judge Frost during all stages of the cases I have had before him, even if it happened to be to my disadvantage. There was never a question as to his evenhandedness, intellectual ability and scholarship. He was furthermore one of the best judges before whom I have ever had the opportunity to attend a settlement conference.

I was admitted from New York, and I found Judge Frost to have a genuinely intellectual approach to the law, to be fair (even when it was to my disadvantage) and to move our case to conclusion (a settlement). It was a real pleasure to be before him.
