Hon. G. Thomas Eisele is a very good judge. He has been on the bench long enough to discern from the truth and lies even in the most complicated cases. He's very compassionate and very thorough and very intelligent. It was an honor to be in his courtroom. We are fortunate to have him on the bench.

Comments:
Judge Eisele has served as an excellent federal judge for nearly four decades, but his age is becoming a factor. He is one of the best.

Comments:
He has been a judge for 40 years; there is nobody better. He handled an immensely complicated capital case in 1998-99 with law review-quality pretrial orders on really complicated stuff, all of which came out in short order, well-reasoned. He should not retire; we could do worse.

Comments:
Appointed by Nixon in 1969, he was a liberal Republican. Now on senior status, he still handles a full load. In hugely complex death penalty case trial with about 20 pretrial motions, he generated law review quality and exhautive opinions on every issue in the case and did not publish any. Has no ego, a compassionate man, a super intellect, grasps issues quickly and always sees both sides, lets lawyers try their cases, always a pleasure to work with. It is an honor to be in his court.

Comments:
This judge has been an excellent judge in the past. However, he has grown older, and, with age, he has delegated more work to his clerks, resulting in less scholarly results. He should retire now.

Comments:
Very fair, applies the law, and does not "homer" out-of-state lawyers. No apparent bias vs. plaintiffs or defendants.

Comments:
An excellent judge. Is always fair, to both the defense and the prosecutors. Just firmly sticks to the rule that the government has the burden of proof.
