I have interned with Judge Hey who is extremely compassionate, knowledgeable and welcoming. She is always willing to educate and teach aspiring lawyers about the complexities of law and the inner workings as a magistrate judge. One of my favorite moments with Judge Hey has been witnessing her preside over the STRIDES courts. You can really see her passion on mental health awareness among vulnerable populations and her desire to genuinely help people regardless of their conviction. She makes everyone around her feel comfortable and does her best to make the criminal justice system digestible to those who may not be familiar with the law.
