Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: 34624
Rating:9.7
Comments:
Judge Durkin is often called a lawyer’s judge. He is even handed in his rulings and fair. He does consider the pleadings and applies the law well. Generally, at oral argument, you’ll be able to tell where he’s leaning with his questions, but he will also give the lawyers a lot of room to argue their case.

Who gave this judge the authority to change the law on gay marriage? The law says that gays can't get married until June 1, 2014, and this jerk makes a special ruling so that a couple of gays can break the rules and get married now because one of them is terminal. Can he just go around changing the rules to suit his own beliefs? If judges have this kind of power, then the U.S. is in bigger trouble than I thought. He should be disbarred!
