Judge Peterson displays nearly perfect judicial temperment. Indeed, I can't think of a time when he was other than professionally calm and courteous, in command of his courtroom, and genuinely interested in the wellbeing of both defendants and victims. He is compassionate when that is appropriate, clearly believes that most people can learn from their mistakes and live a better life. He understands that the vast majority of cases before him involve mental illness and/or addiction issues. I believe that the citizens of Arizona, particularly in Graham County, are fortunate indeed to have the service of Judge Michael Peterson.
