I had heard he was a tough judge to try cases before. What i learned was this judge tells lawyers to say he is tough and spread the word which, and I saw, he says with a smile on his face.

He is very smart and challenging but lets you try your case as long as you are prepared. But if you are not prepared, he is tough. Also he demands professionalism and keeps total control. Don't test him. You will lose. You can tell he has been doing this job for a long time. It actually was a pleasure to try my case in front of him and I would do it again. And yes, I will tell you he is tough. I will also say is very fair to both sides.

can be scary but loosens up once the lawyers are underway and show that they know what they are doing. If you don't know what you are doing, you will quickly get in trouble. Be on time and be prepared and you won't have any problems. Agree with earlier comment that he is very smart and can be funny at times. just don't mess up.

This Judge is still one of the best at the downtown Courthouse. He is hard working and bright and wants to get his rulings right. Do NOT even think about being late in his Courtroom or you will be verbally abused. But once the dust settles he is one of LASC's best and brightest.

Interesting experience. Very hard working judge. Also makes the lawyers work hard. Best to be prepared before hand or face consequences. Efficient but will hear you out when needed. Will not give time if not needed. he decides and telegraphs where he is going. Listen. It helps. And follow his rules.

Tough pretrial. Pushes the attys. But when trial comes, efficient and fair. Smarter than most. Thinks he is the smartest person in the courtroom...probably is in most cases. Strict but really listens and reads everything you file.

10+. he is very on time and prepared. Very good to try a case in front of but very demanding. It works though and client saves a bunch of money because there is no wasted time. just be prepared or it isn't pretty. right, very dry sense of humor. And juries love him

He has a dry sense of humor. If you don't get it or you are late for court, you are in trouble. He reads every piece of paper so don't try and blow it by him. If you are prepared and professional, you won't have any trouble and you will be treated fairly and efficeintly. If not, well you are on your own

A brilliant judge. Just ask him. Fearless, informed, decisive. But a total bully if you're not prepared or don't follow the rules (particularly on any joint submissions). Will not hesistate to browbeat lawyers publicly, even savagely. I once saw some lawyer forget his suit jacket. He began by apologizing, even humorously. Czuleger called him outnastily in front of a at least 50 lawyers, which was gratuitous.
