Excellent judge. He is polite and listens to all. He slightly favors legitimate plaintiffs. But that is because he is a real person with real life experience and has empathy. That said he knows the law and recognizes the pitfalls of each case. Excellent fair judge.

98% of the judges at Stanley Mosk are lazy and cruel. This guy isn't any different than the rest of the bums. Now that you are lawyers, having fun. Too bad you can't change your professions because I am certain you all would. Too many lawyers in Calif. and it's pretty ruff out there making a buck.

He is a full-time settlement judge these days. I absolutely enjoyed the manner in which he conducted our settlement conference. He was very even-keeled. Didn't come at you with an ounce of judicial arrogance. Extremely patient, reasonable. Seriously, couldn't ask for more from a judge. If all judges had his disposition, the practice of law would be so much better.

I had this judge for a settlement conference after the court eliminated the ADR program due to budget cuts. His opening statement to the parties' respective counsel was to the effect that he knew nothing about mediation, as he has had no training or experience in same. Thereafter, he only shuffled numbers back and forth. He is uninterested and lazy, and has no accountability. Let the guy go and fund the ADR program with his salary!

I fully agree with the comment below (CA2360). On a motion to have RFA deemed admitted, he denied even though the opposing side never filed responses prior to the hearing. He granted an ex parte to continue the trial date on the FSC when the other side showed up, without having participated in the pretrial exchange. He then denied a summary judgment, allowed a late motion to reconsider, sat on it for 3 months, and then granted summary judgment 5 days before trial. He clearly has no interest in being a judge, or at least a good one.

He is new judge. Tries very hard not to make any mistakes. He would do or say anything to cover himself. Doesn't read any motions. Very lazy. After two years trial with him we noticed he was not even listening to the main issues of the case. He ruled by mistake. Or had someone copy paste the final argument into his ruling. He doesn't read or put time on anything. He had made up his mind on the first day who is good or bad. Other party played around with court and he didn't care. He ruled three times for president of company to come. They played around no one came and he cared less. he takes the easy way out.
