He gives you a fair trial. He is very thorough I have done many trials before him and he is one of the best in Placer County. I have never had a problem with him. He takes time to consider and analyze the issues and makes a very solid record. I believe that my clients will get a fair shake from Judge Penney.

My experience with Judge Penney was during his days in family court. He was arbitrary and refused to listen to my reply and sided solely with my ex-wife in giving complete custody to her and sticking me with a whole gaggle of TRO's and removal from my home....etc. He was kind enough to decide my complicated situation in about two minutes which affected my children negatively for the past 13 years. Their mother has tormented them and is now no longer part of their lives and have since become my biggest fans and champions. They have called their mother out for fabricating allegations against me that destroyed my relationship with them for a decade. Fences have been mended but I cannot get that time back. Happily we are making up for lost time. But, Good job, Judge for being manipulated by a total psychopath. I'd love to say that I'm not bitter, but, I am. Good luck facing God.

Judge Penny has always given a fair and reasonable response to support his findings. I have never disagreed with a specific contention that reasonable minds couldn't differ on. Keep in mind, he is still right-leaning, as is the whole Placer Bench except Irby, in his interpretation of the sticker parts of criminal sentencing. After one of my defendants was convicted of a stabbing, he refused to issue cell phone, electronic, and other terms which were not related to a stabbing, yet get tacted on in Placer all the time.

He is an excellent judge. He treats people with respect. He is fair and evenhanded. I think one of the best trial judges.
