Comments:
Just HORRIBLE Haines! There is nothing honorable about him! He should be removed from Dept. 501, there’s just too much activity of cases for this guy, his memory is bad and poorly selective, he has to take breaks every 5 minutes, and he doesn’t comport with the laws and for those reasons, he should be de-benched. I’ve sat in the courtroom on numerous occasions to study and listen to his rulings and most of them are absurd and obviously discriminates. Bring back Quidachay to 501, he was stern but at least he was sharp and was always on top the cases.
Horrible Haines needs to retire, or be sent in an easier courtroom, he is just too incapable.

Hates tenants and their lawyers, will not listen to them and will do anything to throw out their cases before trial

Judge Haines will rule for a plaintiff, but only if they have a case. He is how a judge should be and continues the great tradition in 501 passed on from Quidachay before him: Scholarship.

Comments:
He is a terrible lazy judge, he lets his clerk reads the papers and makes decision on the cases...

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA27021
Rating:3.0
Comments:
He completely ignores controlling law and does whatever he wants, which is usually wrong. He has no grasp whatsoever of anything more sophisticated than non-payment of rent. He is an embarrassment to bench and bar.

Hie is an abomination and unfit to be presiding in Department 501

Ignores the Law- Follows his own personal sense of what is right and wrong.

Across the board, so many of his decisions are result oriented. He will deny unopposed motions if he is against you and give every chance if he is for you.

He will deny unopposed motions for terminating sanctions even after 2-3 discovery orders are not complied with. He will deny ex parte applications to enter stipulated judgments and require noticed motions.
