Civil Litigation - Private

Comments:
Judge Lofthus doesn't follow the law and sometimes doesn't know the law. 2 examples: I represented borrowers whose purchase money mortgage debt was barred by the single action rule. I demurred and lost, walked out of the Courtroom listening to opposing counsel on CourtCall ask "Can I amend my complaint?" He didn't amend, but when trial approached, we offered $0 on a $50K+ claim, he dismissed because he knew he had no case. Second, she denied a motion for summary judgment, the issues were so clear that at the end of the court trial, she immediately ruled from the bench in favor of the moving party on the MSJ. She's nice, but lacks the cutting edge needed to be a judge.
