I tried a very high profile drowning accident case before Judge Zemetis a couple of years ago. Elite plaintiff counsel on the other side. I lost, unsurprising as the drowning was recorded on surveillance cameras, but I found Judge Zemetis personable, knowledgable and in charge of his courtroom. Rumors are that he leans more toward plaintiffs but I did not see that. This was a very tough, emotional case and could have spiraled out of control but he found ways through humor and timing of breaks to keep his hard charging teams of lawyers from going after each other's throats.
Not all rulings went my way but at least he explained them. I understood the basis even if I didn't like the result. I try cases all over the country and I seldom say this but I'll give him an A+ . In doing so I am aligned with almost every lawyer who has practiced before him.
