Brilliant judge who is respectful to attorneys and pro se litigants. He is even tempered and unfailingly pleasant. His courtroom is a joy to work in. He is always prepared and understands the case law completely. I couldn't ask for a better judge on any case.

Judge Ruiz rules on personal feelings not on the law. He abuses his discretion when ruling on certain matters has total disregard for the law. If he is nominated to the Federal court we are in trouble

Incredibly annoying and loud. I cant believe they are considering this guy for the Southern District Court. He should stay in small claims handling evictions and petty little things.

This judge did not bother to read the duly filed Answer describing horrific persecution and significant wrongdoing by the Plaintiff, his documented friend. He granted a Wrongful Eviction so this friend could destitute an elderly veteran and disabled wife who were CURRENT ON RENT. Plaintiff, property owner-landlord swindled this couple and other Elderly, tricking them to spend their own money to make rental apartments livable, then ignored Florida Statutes Tenant Rights,evicted them without reimbursements for thousands of dollars;their duly filed Appeal and Counterclaim was mysteriously misfiled,assuring this Elderly couple received NOTHING, putting them on the street. Other landlords use identical tactics to rob the vulnerable, assisted by these judges.

yes, as a litigant before Judge Ruiz, i gotta say, he is supper knowledgable as a judge, but he was not fair with me, he after being cited florida Law on a matter before him , yet while he was signing the order denying my motion, relied, if im wrong let the third reverse me, wow, Judge where is thy oath to up hold the Law...

It's a true honor to be the first to rate Judge Ruiz. Judge Ruiz is a rising star in the Miami Dade County Judiciary. He's smart, fair, has a great temperment (but don't be rude to him or he will put you in your place!). He will not last long as a County Court Judge, as I'm sure he will be elevated and rightfully so. Stay fair Judge Ruiz. Don't be swayed by plaintiffs' pushiness and sense of entitlement. You haven't always ruled my way, but I truly believe you didn't based on how you interpreted the rule of law. That's all I can ask for. As a judge your integrity is all you have. If a man/woman doesn't have that, they should not serve as a judge.
