This guy is a complete HACK. He has absolutely no business being on the bench. Possibly the worst judge I have had the displeasure of appearing before. When the h-- are these old codgers going to freaking retire and not inflict their biased carcasses on innocent unsuspecting litigants. This guy needs top get of the bench immediately. When is his term up? Somebody needs to run against this creasy old fool if he is not going to do the honorable thing and retire

This judge does not follow the law. He just ignores it. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets reversed a lot. If you have an important issue or case, bring a court reporter and sign up an appellate attorney. You can’t rely on this judge to apply the law. He’s awful and seems to have an agenda. This comment has nothing to do with whatever that custody case was. But, if he followed the law there I’m surprised.

I can tell that most of these reviews were left by "intactivists." What these "intactivists" don't understand is that this judge was bound by contract law, to hold the mother they are all discussing, accountable for the contract that she signed. She was not under duress nor was she fraudulently induced to sign it. She absconded with her son, and these intactivists are encouraging her to run on public forums as they offer to help hide her. This little boy has Lukemia, and needs access to his doctors, which he cannot get if she disappears. He has no choice but to require supervised visitation at this point because of her history of running. These intactivists are convinced this judge is doing what he is doing because he is Jewish, and have called him biased based upon his personal faith. He is ruling based upon what the law dictates, her past history of absconding with her son, and upon the judicial cannons. The judge is not the bad guy here. The mother is not the bad guy, the father is not the bad guy; the bad guys are the people that are encouraging her to run, and the people who are using her to further their own agendas. This judge has been thrust into the middle of all this, his ethics questioned, and his name tarnished on sites like this; when it he is simply following what the law requires him to do.

This judge is highly biased, doesn't take into account the protection of a defenseless child. He allows a father who doesn't have custody of a child to use his court to harass the boy's mother.

He's put the mother in jail for trying to protect her son. He should be disbarred.

This Judge is very fair and level headed. Judge Gillen treats all litigants with respect and try's to foster a conciliatory spirit between parties.

This judge is horrendously awful. He refused to appoint a guardian ad litem in the custodial case of a four year old child and jailed his mother and kept her there until she signed a consent form to have a completely cosmetic procedure done that the child stated he did not want and was deemed medically unnecessary. This judge needs to be disbarred due to incompetence.

He is an absolutely horrible judge who does not take the needs of a child into play, only the paperwork. He has manipulated the law and unlawfully detained a woman in jail, stating she will sign paperwork or sit in jail until she does. That is not consent. He refused to appoint a 4 year old a guardian ad litem and is allowing the boy who is fully aware of his body and does not want an unnecessary and dangerous surgery to take place anyway. He needs to be disbarred.
