Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: FL9766
Rating:1.0
Comments:
Judge Coates granted an additional 10k, to an Attorney who lied about representing me, and had previously been Denied Attorneys Fees by the Appellate Court.
Judge Coates failed to review the Orders, and was rude and dismissive when I tried explaining the facts.

Other

Comment #: FL9765
Rating:1.0
Comments:
He is not impartial or fair. He does not review documents carefully. He does not seem to care about defendant character history. His sentencing is always on max even when victims may object. Overall too harsh. He throws away people's lives with a smirk on his face.

Litigant

Comment #: FL9349
Rating:1.0
Comments:
The comments made that he appears to become the Respondent's attorney is true. It happened to my daughter who was sent back to the county where she was being abused and began offering her abuser 'helpful insights' for his case. She would eventually die.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: FL7629
Rating:4.3
Comments:
Judge Coates hesitates to grant anything. I once showed up to a properly noticed hearing that my opponent failed to appear for, the judge told me to proceed anyway (which I felt was appropriate), but then he ended up arguing against me as if he was my opponent and denied my motion.

Other

Comment #: FL7253
Rating:10.0
Comments:
Not only did Judge Coates read the materials provided prior to the hearing, but he listened attentively and entered a comprehensive ruling based on the evidence and the law. A very very good judge.

Other

Comment #: FL5691
Rating:1.0
Comments:
Manufactures evidence for his friends.
Wipes of the 6th. Amendment.
Threatens retaliation to those who represents their clients effectively.
