Horrible judge. 100% for the mothers. He does not care about fathers. You can definitely tell he is not voted in, but appointed. Huge ego and very ignorant regarding family law. He separates fathers from their kids. Very sad human.

He does not care if father has 100% evidence, and mother has words.. mother always wins.

My experience with Judge Maurer has been perplexing. His limited knowledge of family court is obvious and his rulings are predictable. Each court hearing should be ruled on a case by case basis.

Same experience here as the previous comments. This man ruined my life. What should have been a simple and fair custody trial was turned into a sick display of ignorance. Apparently I am not fit to raise my children (no reason given) since all custody was handed to my ex wife. I helped raised those kids since they were born. All I am to them now is a paycheck.

Do not go into family court with this judge. He will rule in favor of the mother no matter what. It is obvious he has no family law experience. He separates families as if it's still 1950.....mom gets the kids, dad pays every dime to mom. He will make sure dad pays mom the highest amount of child support....even when dad can PROVE he is in the negative each month while paying outrageous amounts of child support. And society wonders why fathers tend to kill themselves in these situations. They can't even provide a home for their kids to come to.

He is extremely sexist in family court even when facts are presented to him in favor of the father. Multiple lawyers have said that he rarely deviates from the standard child support/custody laws, matter how broke it makes the father. In my opinion, if you want any chance at seeing your children more that 1 day a week, request a change of judge if you are assigned Judge Maurer. He needs to modernize his rulings. Fathers want 50/50 custody.
