Placed my aunt as ward of the state because he did not feel like hearing my cousin's argument that she was taking care of her elderly, senile, alcoholic mother in the mother's home - on her own dime mainly - when her brother convinced his mother to make him POA. Cousin wrote check for her mother's care, brother took her to court for theft. Should have been an easy one, she had all the evidence of caretaking. Judge ordered mother into nursing home. Brother moved his son into the house. Cousin continued visiting and advocating to the state for her mother even though they treated her like dirt. The mother caught COVID, recovered at age 97 but the state put her in rehab facility and withheld fluids and food for 2 weeks until she died. State put lien on her only asset, her house. Leaving my cousin as executor and an impossible situation because she can't sell the house and 1/2 of that was her inheritance. This judge is a pompous [redacted] and should never have been elected to a judge position.
