I watched as this judge did not look at any evidence, ignored DHHS Child Protection Service caseworker's testimony in court which indicated the children's mother of moderate abuse and neglect, and threw the 3 children into a state of emotional chaos without an ounce of concern for their health. The children's father had joint physical custody of the children (25 weeks a year) for nearly 5 years. DHHS did not indicate the father for anything. The investigation and indication of abuse was against the mother, and proved evident. The oldest child, a 13 yr old, spoke to two different judges privately told them her side of the story. She was granted her wish - to live with her father. However, in a seemingly vengeful tactic, Judge Goranites took joint custody away from the father for the younger 2 children, and gave primary custody of them to their abusive mother, who also has a record of keeping the children from their father during his scheduled contact time. The judge ignored this as well. The father and his younger 2 children went from seeing each other no less than 3 days a week, to only seeing each other 4 days a month. The ruling was appalling, and put the children in a dangerous environment. Their mother has relocated the children 11 times in 7 years. She cannot support herself as she refuses to work, and depends on live in boyfriends to support her and the children. She collects food stamps and other assistance programs. The judge also ordered that should the father get behind in his child support, not only will his tax refund be seized by DHHS/DSER, but the mother will have the right to claim all of the 13 yr old's tax benefits and credits. Even though the teenager is gay and refusing to see her homophobic mother, and to date has not seen her mother for over 3 months. Judge Goranites also told the parents that if he could, he would give the children to the state or a third party! The children's father had absolutely ZERO evidence against him to suggest he is an unfit father. But because he was standing up for his children and rights as their father, Judge Goranites ruled in the mother's favor and has systematically destroyed the younger 2 children, who spend most of their days crying because they miss their father so much. This judge should be thrown off the bench! His ruling only proves two things: he does not care of the children's best interests at all, and he should not be in a position of power.

No one cares that he is a disgrace to truth. He lives in his posh home, oblivious to the harm that he has caused to so many families!

This judge made a political decision during a protection hearing to accommodate Pine Tree Legal Services, and in the process, he made a decision that didn't protect children, and it put 2 kids in an unstable situation until their father could get them back through the family courts. This man is a disgrace to all judges who protect children.Also, in a protection hearing, took away primary residence from a father, that had been earned in the correct courts due to concerns with the other parent. No guardian ad litem was appointed to find the truth, even though the father would have paid for it. So he made 2 kids unstable and took them from where they were living their whole lives. This father ended up getting sole custody within a year of this judge goranites decision which proves who was right. A complaint was filed and swept under the rug because this man also sits on the complaint committee. The whole system and process has been a complete disgrace and an embarrassment to democracy.
