This judge does not follow the law when it comes to child support cases. After years of not receiving any child support from my child’s father. She told me, “It’s not like he committed a crime.” I will never forget what she said.

Master Weatherly has been a Domestic Relations Master for a long time. Let's hope the time soon comes when she can safely leave for retirement and not ruin any more lives.

I tried to get temporary custody of my grandchildren and she denied me. Now my granddaughter cannot get into college because we still do mot know where her mother is. I am not allowed to be put down as her guardian after taking care of her since birth. She has to be as homeless of all the stupid things I have heard in order to get there. I blame Judge Weatherly for this. If she cannot get in I have just lost $300.00 for room and admissions fees(non-refundable). I have been able to get her thru school and to the doctors,but not as a guardian. How many children don't get to college because of this. How unfair.it was case# CAD04-14248. It was dimissed without predjudice on 05/29/07.

I think her more competent colleagues have been covering up for her that’s why she has flown under the radar for this long. I chuckle when I think of some of the things I have seen her do. She’s one in a long list of bad judicial appointments probably made for political reasons. Sadly, she will retire as a sub-par judge who never deserved that position. I shudder to think of how many lives she has ruined.

I found Judge Weatherly's demeanor to be rather blaise' in regards to cases. She seems indifferent to her job to seriously affect lives irreparably. She disregarded my rights constitutionally in regards to discovery, and a fair and speedy trial. She discriminated against my disability and publicly degraded me concerning it. She has ignored child endangerment charges for my son, and continues to deny me a right to a fair trial in regards to foreclosure fraud of my ex husband. She won't even acknowledge the charges. This has left us in an unconscionable state permanently.

I decided to check out this site after a friend mentioned how bad this judge is, and how bad she screwed up her divorce. The last time I checked, judges were public servants and are open to criticism. From some of the comments here, it seems she is no more intelligent than a crossing guard at your local elementary school. The best anyone can say is that she is a nice woman. When has being nice a qualification for the bench? I am a full-time employee, and if I wasn’t competent, I would be out of a job. If this hapless woman is in over her head isn’t it better to remove her from her position? My friend described her as shallow, lacking in analytical skills and self-righteous, but that she was old and would retire soon. Let’s hope that time comes sooner than later.

I have been in front of the Judge in two different Child Custody matters, from about 1988-1991. The Judge was a Master of Domestic relations at the time. I found her to be fair , unbiased toward either party.She was concerned that a parent was being denied visitation, did not accept a lame excuse, was very proactive in terms of asking questions of the parents to get at the truth. She awarded attorney's fees to a parent that was denied visitation, to compensate for having to litigate the matter. However, She allowed the same case to go to a foreign Jurisdiction, despite the fact the child was born in Maryland, resulting in the same outcome in that State ( denial of visitation ).She took the easy way out, "kicked the can down the road", instead she should have let justice be done, so this child would have been able to see both parents, not been kept away from one, later to be abused by a step parent, in the Foreign state. true story

This has to be one of the craziest judges I've ever run across out of all the courtrooms I've been in....she has no regard for the evidence....doesn't know what fair, equitable and unbiased means and needs to resign from the bench immediately before she screws up millions of lives instead of hundreds

Not very intelligent. Actually, not intelligent period. i like her courtroom decorum. She is disciplined in that sense. The problem is when she is called upon to use her smarts. She will actually believe the more dramatic version of the evidence even though it is not supported by the facts. Would be a good gossip in social settings. As a judge, she is definitely not worth that position.

My only complaint about Judge Weatherly is that she bends over backwards a little too much for pro se litigants. Pro se's (litigants who represent themselves) never follow the rules and really slow down the progress of a case. I think she lets them get away with acting dumb a little too much. I understand it, but I really do not like it. Otherwise, she is a very good judge, especially in family law which is her forte. She is not, however, as one writer put it, a "one-trick pony."

What we’re trying to do here is voice our concerns over an alarming decline in the quality of the bench, and this judge is one very good example. It’s not personal animus or hate. We’ve invested a lot to become part of the profession, and just because she wears a robe doesn’t mean she is knowledgeable. True story: a friend who knows this judge told me that she knows nothing outside of family law. I have been in many cases before her, and she has never engaged me with a sharp judicial mind. She leaves one with this deeply unsatisfying feeling that somehow you expected more from the bench. Her cases often dissolve into this chatty exchange -- I guess because her limited judicial skills have failed her at that point. The problem with that is that your client then feels that they could have represented themselves, and since the questions from the bench are directed at the client, you’ve become superfluous. Besides, she proselytizes from the bench.

Here is a true benchwarmer. I bet she can't wait for retirement so she can high-tail it out of here. She actually ruled on my case without hearing from the other side. I was aghast! Wouldn't that be the primary role of a judge? To hear both sides? Even criminals have constitutional protections, you know. How did she make it to the bench? Oh, she's nice all right. That's not the point. Just don't ask her to do anything more complex than a family law uncontested divorce.

Whoever called this judge a "one-trick pony" must have no or little experience with this judge. You will not find a more thorough or harder-working judge on the bench. I probably handle more men's cases than women's cases in the family law arena and I have found her to be equally fair regardless of the gender of the litigants. Great demeanor and tends to keep a lid on things when the litigants get overheated. I have known Judge Weatherly for around 30 years, and I can tell you that no one has more respect for and love of the law than she does.

Puhleeeze! A good judge? Gimme a break. She's a one trick-pony. A former Master seemingly perpetually trapped in that mode. A glorified school principal sadly miscast as a jurist. Could you imagine her handling a complex civil litigation? Good, I didn't think so. She would make a good pastor, handling mediation between feuding family members. But a good judge? I don't think so.

I litigated many domestic relations cases before Judge Weatherly. She is always respectful to all litigants and very evenhanded with her decisions. She is very knowledgeable in domestic cases. She deserves a spot on the bench.
