Comments:
Judge Marsha Russell appears to have a bias against Black women. In two separate cases, I experienced the same unethical and unprofessional behavior from her. She suggested to my abuser, on record, to file a motion that she would grant, simply because the state's attorney hadn’t printed the paperwork. My testimony was ignored. She witnessed the violation herself and still let this man go, despite his extensive criminal and domestic violence record, as well as his history of mental health commitments.

It feels like the system aids abusers in harming victims. She showed no concern for my safety or my children's safety, which is appalling. Coaching my abuser on how to bypass an active restraining order and continue threatening my life is heartless. I don't understand how she can sleep at night. She seems particularly bitter towards women of her own race. I’ve seen her release people of other ethnicities facing serious charges. For example, she let a white kid go free after a hit-and-run because he apologized.

I have no criminal record and am a law-abiding citizen, but I’ve been terrorized by someone exploiting the Maryland court system’s failure to protect domestic violence victims. Her actions made it clear that she doesn’t value my life or my children's lives. Women are killed by abusers every day, and giving this man a slap on the wrist after I risked my life to testify is a disgrace to the judicial system. Judge Russell’s conduct is a disservice to those who represent the judiciary with integrity.!

Comments:
Judge Russell exhibits an unfortunate disregard for the most basic legal principles, even when presented with citations to valid Maryland law that indisputably applies to the case at bar. She does not hesitate to interrupt attorneys and witnesses mid-sentence and will interrupt you during closing argument to let you know that she doesn’t like the way you phrased something, even if you’re barely 5 seconds in. Her implicit need for an ego boost simply overrides the facts and the law, which is disheartening to see in yet another member of an already oft-failing judiciary.

Very unfair doesn't look at the fact that people don't have criminal records on looks at the charges and if they appear serious she holds people doesn't remember people are innocent until proven guilty I will do everything in my legal rights to have this judge removed from her position she should be in traffic court
