Returned children to abuser. Reckless and ignorant judge. Took detectives to free us and only judge chandlee to undo everything. Horrible person. I hope his mistakes haunt him at night.

He's one of the best judges in the State. Will take the time to listen to Defendant's and ensure that they remove themselves from harmful cycles. Prefers rehabilitation over incarceration. Will talk to you at length in chambers to get everyone on the same page. Truly a gift.

Its sad to see such injustice occur. Especially when a child has screamed for help multiple times. Then there is an incident with proof and he just overlooks it. Should you not recouse your self in a legal matter where the defendent knows you so they continuously show to court without counsel and still are allowed to take a precious innocent life and keep endangering it. Also, a total disregard for what the child wants and where a child feels safe. I understand custody cases and such can be difficult for any judge but let's face it you know what you are doing and you know it isn't just. I thought it is suppose to be justice for all. I guess my child has to continue to suffer and be abused and possibly die in a horrible accident before you realize you need to end your bias opinion and quit a helping a drug addict. It breaks my heart to know of my child's suffering. I don't honestly know how y you sleep at night. I surely cant. All I can do is keep praying and hope that nothing horrible happens before something can be done about this. I feel Judge Chandlee is in multiple violations of his duties as a judge. I will pray for him as well as I have been doing. I just think he has no right to decide as a judge because he is not fair and is not just. So sad for Calvert County Circuit Court to have him as the only judge right now

Judge Chandlee is a very compassionate, bright, and even-handed judge. He understands the issues in front of him, and is willing to craft solutions that are fair to both sides. He does try to bend over backwards though to give flexibility to a side that is struggling with presenting a case. That's a good thing if it's an unsophisticated litigant that is just trying to have his or her day in court.

Absolutely phenomenal judge. He is painstakingly fair, patient with pro se litigants, cordial and friendly to all, and holistic in his approach. As a former private practice attorney, he understands the myriad factors involved in managing a case, and is willing to be creative and flexible when necessary. Definitely not one to value "the rule" over "the outcome." He makes practicing before him a genuine pleasure.
