she is a great judge, probably much better in criminal than civil. The only downside to Judge North is that she does not know some areas of law and will rely on the lawyers to infrom, and that does not always work out to be a correct statement of the law. But she will listen and you can convince her. she is pro defendant in criminal and she is not afraid to say that police officers sometimes lie. Definitely can get a fair trial with her.

I couldn't disagree more with some of the other comments. I have had several matters before her, and she is always well prepared and well informed on the law in civil cases. Even when she has ruled against me-- and she has-- her decisions are founded upon a rational basis and a tenable reading of the law, not from out in left field like some other judges on the bench in Anne Arundel County.

Has very little understanding of civil litigation and civil litigation legal concepts. Very pleasant to litigants and counsel but appears to pre-judge case and is result oriented rather than law oriented. She is much more proficient in criminal matters although she does have a defense bias.

Interjects herself into the facts without understanding the law on issues before her. Tends to gravitate towards what she wants the end result to be early on and before considering the legal issues involved.

Not my pick for a reasonable judge to handle a complex case.

This judge is lazy and not very bright in business/corporate disputes. Read the pleadings and case law, Judge North - then you won't have to ask so many stupid questions. She should be given only criminal cases.
