Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA55325
Rating:10.0
Comments:
I had exactly the opposite experience with Judge Cogliati. We were in the judge's courtroom for several days in a row, and both I and another attorney were very pleased with her command of the facts in the case. So much so, that we both walked out of her courtroom, turned to one another, and questioned how she gained control of certain details so quickly. Further, the matter included some emotionally charged issues, and Judge Cogliati's demeanor in the courtroom allowed both counsel and the witnesses to fully present the case without feeling rushed. She was very patient with the witnesses and kind to the other individuals in the courtroom.

Comments:
This Judge did not appear to read the file or the motion before ruling. She completely disregarded California law. The Judge denied a Motion To Quash and after she ruled wanted to set the matter for trial apparently lacking the basic knowledge that the court is not conferred jurisdiction of the defendant by the defendant specially appearing on such a motion. The Judge is apparently unfamiliar with the law she is assigned to decide. She might want to set a matter for trial AFTER the defendant has appeared and filed an answer.
