Lubell has a horrible reputation for allowing abusive partners to continue to abuse through his trial proceedings. He has biased relationships with court appointed attorneys and especially child advocates. He aids and abets child alienation and steals custody from competent parents. He should not be sitting in family court where his decisions seem to stem from his own ego rather than the needs of the children. His is a misogynist. He abuses his power. The Westchester Family courts are run like a 3rd world country. The corruption is over the top.

his clerk said to me "he likes to settle. if he doesnt settle, look out" He does not read any documents. he spends a lot of time flirting with his transcription person. he is not honorable in any way

I wish every Judge was like the Honorable Lubell. He is not worried about disagreeing with his less savvy contemporaries on the bench in Westchester. He is remarkable to watch in action. A fantastic sense of humor, really smart and treats everyone with respect. As an attorney, it’s rare to walk into a courtroom and feel like you’re actually being treated kindly by a judge.

I didn't have a banking case but I had a matrimonial before Judge Lubell that was returned on appeal from a decision by another Judge. He cut through to the heart of the issues, resulting in a settlement that made both parties relatively unhappy, a sure sign of even-handedness. I thought he handled the case well.

NO evenhandedness here. He will rule for big business. Look out world, we have a very PARTIAL judge on the bench who cares about himself; not the law. he will not even pay attention to the law. Al Farella is even worse!! Get yourself a good attorney if you have this hack on the bench

Judge Lubell should be disbarred. His judgment rarely falls within the scope of the law. He does not apply the law correctly and will rule based on how he "feels" not on how the law is written. He is a danger to our system. Justice should not be in his title.

This judge used to have sense. Both he and his law clerk,Al, have become lazy and downright crabby. Judge Lubell is biased in favor of the banks no matter what the law reads. He does not care about families or the law, he cares about his own sense of what he thinks is right, EVEN IF ITS AGAINST THE LAW. He will surely be sued sometime soon

One of the best judges I have seen in over 25 years of practice. Intellectually smart; street smart; wonderful judicial temperament. A judge who has actually tried cases himself. I just hope we don't lose him to the Appellate Division.

Agree w/NY567 and especially NY426. A very knowledgeable gentleman judge who often contributes to making settlement possible. Highly respected throughout the district. Only democrat in memory (50 yrs) whom republican lawyers in Orange county complained when he was transferred to another county. A star!

I mostly practice in federal court, so I don't have a lot to compare him to. But I found Judge Lubell to be by far the best state court judge I've ever appeared before. He writes scholarly opinions and and has a strong grasp on evidentiary issues. Very different, in my experience, from most state court judges.

Judge Lubell is one of those rarities, a judge who has tried many cases. Having been in the trenches, he knows and understands the day-in day-out world of a practicing attorney. Extremely fair, he knows how to evaluate and handle even the most complex medical malpractice cases.
