Justice Sher is an extremely pleasant jurist, who respects all attorneys and has a very polite, kind and positive demeanor. She is like the grandma you want to have. But make no mistake, she is no pushover - she will preclude you with a smile and won't change her mind. If you are prepared and are polite to her, she will respond in kind. I like her very much and wish all jurists were like her.

Justice Sher is superb. She knows the law and is nice and respectful to everyone. Even when she's telling you to bring the adjuster down to court, she is firm, but fair. It is always good to have her as your jurist, no matter what side you represent.

In a Courthouse filled with evil, dumb, lazy, criminal (felon Sol Wachtler was a judge here) and/or unqualified judges she has always been nice to me and the other people I have seen her interact with. She may not be perfect (I have never seen her handle a matrimonial case)but for Nassau Supreme she is excellent...

Judge Sher is a fair and compassionate judge with respect for the law, including laws protecting the disabled, such as The American's With Disabilities Act. She will work with counsel for both parties to arrive at a fair and equitable resolution. I have observed no bias whatsoever in her attitude towards any party or attorney, male or female.

The woman is a total ass. She fails to even understand a simple fact: she is one-sided towards women and to her friends. In other words, if you're a lawyer who is a friend, you can do no wrong. Thank God for my kids that I got them -- if not, my kids would have been given to their mother, who spent over 40 days in South Oaks. This judge should be disbarred from the bench: her own child killed himself, and a mother who was mentally ill she gave the kids to in 2009 killed all three kids.

I read the prior comments. I have no idea what they were thinking. Justice Sher is a good judge. She is certainly fair and impartial in the manner by which she handles the litigants. In my particular case, she was very "hands on" and, with her help, I was able to settle the case.

This judge is unfortunately lacking in any quality that makes for a quality jurist. She is a very shallow thinker, injudicious, biased, prejudiced, impatient and she should not be reelected to the bench in Nassau County or any county.

My experiences with this judge in civil litigation is that she is woefully uninformed on the law, and seems to make no effort to change that. She often seems to make rulings from the top of her head on a whim (or a bias) and she lacks the qualities that define a competent jurist. A very unfortunate addition to the bench in the Supreme Court of Nassau County.

She is biased and prejudiced in favor of women over men. Her three reported App Div cases favored wives over husbands, and she was reversed each time. In addition, she gave child custody to a deranged, drug addict mother who had threatened to kill her kids, ignoring the father who testified about the threats. The mother later killed the kids. She does not believe men, period. She does not know the law, is unfair in her rulings, and exercises her discretion with extreme prejudice. She arbitrarily denies requests for adjournments. She is, frankly, stupid, and unable to correctly apply the burden of proof. She could not judge credibility correctly if her life depended on it, and in the mommy murder case, unfortunately, three children lost their lives because she could not judge credibility correctly.
