A godsend. Half of me wants him sent up to Supreme, like, yesterday, but the other half wants him to stay where he is, as he moves the calendar in his part along quickly and fairly. Polite, even-handed, and a very lively intelligence at work there. They should all be like this.

Judge O'Brien is at the top of my list of excellent judges. He is intelligent, hardworking and truly understands the often complex issues involved in criminal litigation. He is also a gentleman, refreshingly humble, though his legal abilities would entitle him to act otherwise, and above all, he is perhaps the fairest judge I have ever had the pleasure of appearing before. Finally a Nassau District Court Judge with intelligence, a strong work ethic and who is fair to both sides. Too bad we can't clone him and replace the horrible judges in Nassau County with replicas of the HONORABLE William O'Brien.

This is a judge who knows his law and treats everyone fairly. Jurors love him and most attorneys praise him for his fairness, firmness, patience, intelligence, knowledge of the law and control of his courtroom. This judge is a credit to the court system.

One of the rare types of judges. No apparent ego, great sense of humor, is modest and smart. He is the judge other judges seek out for an opinion. He is wonderful on hearings and trial. Lets one try their case and is exceptionally even-handed. He is wasted in District Court. Somebody ought to nominate him for Supreme Court as soon as possible.
