Comments:
I found Judge Pickering to be very thorough and one of the only family courts judges that actually reads the files presented to him. I sat in his court room watching the cases before mine and actually thought this judge gets it, and cares about the truth. Although his decision was not in my favor,I am not a lawyer , I am an alienated mother who went before him on my own with the facts of my case in hand. I totally respect they way he handles each & every case as if it’s the only one on his docket.

I will say NJ Family court needs a complete overhaul and all the judges, court staff & attorneys need extensive training to recognize which parent is actually high conflict , which parent is the abuser refusing to co-parent and bent on pushing the healthy normal rage parent for ending their abuse of them , Parent Child Bond Obstruction, Emotional Child Abuse & Domestic Violence and stop letting these abuser get away with violating their court orders. DV abuser do not follow court order because they feel they are above the law.
NJ allows a 15 y o to choose a parent, this wrong especially when this child has been emotionally traumatized by the DV high conflict abusing parent into erasing their other parent. Judge Pickering could have pushed harder made a difference to my daughter but choose to go with status quo and allowed her to remain with her proven abuser who actually lost custody just 2 months later.

You must be 26 to rent a car, you must 21 to Gamble or by Alcohol ,why because it’s been proven over and over that anyone under these age brackets make stupid impulse decisions that could be very costly to their own well-being, So why is NJ Family Court allowing and encouraging a 15 yo to choose a parent ?This wrong on so many levels when dealing with DV Abuser who terrorize manipulate & abuse their children! And you have a couseling recommendation letter stating the child is traumatized and alienated.

Do nothing and binding time until they age out leaves lots of kids traumatized and broken family ties

My rating is 5 because the other 3 judges who have been involved in my case are ZEROS !
