Judge Steven P. Scheffler has shown clear bias and abused his power, making unfair decisions that ignore evidence and harm families. He has an arrogant and narcissistic demeanor, often dismissing valid concerns, talking down to litigants, and making rulings based on personal judgment rather than facts. He appears to decide cases before even entering the courtroom, disregarding key evidence and due process. He gives attorneys little time to advise their clients before pressuring litigants—going so far as to threaten parties during pre-trial by stating he will rule in favor of the other side if they “take too long” or push for a trial. His actions have not only undermined justice and public trust but have also created an unsafe and unfair legal environment for families seeking help. He should not be allowed to preside over family court—or any court at all—based on his inability to remain impartial, uphold due process, and ensure fair treatment for all.

Too many families have been hurt by Judge Scheffler’s unfair rulings. If you’ve experienced his bias, don’t stay silent—speak up and share your story! We don’t know if speaking out will remove him, but if we don’t try, nothing will change. The more people who come forward, the harder it will be for him to keep getting away with it. Officials need to see the damage he’s causing and take action. No one should fear the court system—especially when it comes to the safety and well-being of children.

This man is horrible. More concerned with trying to make a name for himself than the families he’s overseeing. Drunk on power. Extremely biased.. he truly does pick sides and is just a nasty person. I saw an attorney write a letter to him, begging him to give his client a fair trial ( def Didn’t get one that’s for sure) We need to do something about this disgrace to the bench. He is ruining lives and needs to be stopped.

This Judge is dangerously uneducated, political appointment by his buddies. He was a mediocre attorney and now a dangerous unhinged addition to the shit show of family Court Judges in Atlantic County. He ignores competent evidence and picks a side, rather than abide by law. He is ignorant, arrogant and beleives he is omnipotent. If you get him as a Judge request another. Unhinged loose cannon.

Would not allow evidence as proof of innocence in the form of State of NJ documents to be submitted and insisted that I was lying, based on heresy of PLA. Found me guilty of harassment for requesting a mediation via email and text between myself and other parties in order to avoid court hearing. I was called horrible, uncalled for names and accused of lying with unjust cause. The PLA lied on 90% of the TRO as a means to prevent my taking them to court

[Redacted by Ed.] Even when dangerous and causing irreperable harm to children. Maybe this was looked over in other areas of law but it should never have been merged with Familt Law. Scary so many mothers fathers and children’s lives are forever being harmed by one man and there is nothing any of them can do or say without backlash.
