Horrible judicial temperament, issues rulings not based on law or facts, rules on a whim. I have seen her stomp off the bench before in a fury of anger. This is unacceptable.

She made a terrible decision which is completely opposite what she should have done according to law. She allowed a criminal threats charge to proceed to trial after the prosecution completely failed to present any elements constituting violation of section 422, and she ignored a motion to dismiss because of the charge lacking any probable cause. Terrible decision - such people ready and willing to so poorly apply law to facts need not be employed by our government. She is one of many professionals in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles system who don't actually care about merit or details of cases, and instead operate based on wanting to 'teach people lessons' or 'get someone' even though the person hasn't broken any law, and no reasonable person with legal training should think they have.

I served on a jury with Judge Verastegui. She clearly stated the instructions and made sure everyone understood questions, instructions and decorum. She is patient and fair to all parties in the courtroom.
