Rating:1.0
Comments:
Yet again Pamela Butler continues to do a disservice to the legal community with her apathetic disposition and refusal to know and apply the law. I will not refer to her as Your Honor because there is nothing honorable about her conduct as a jurist.

The last comment posted from June 2023 is very true. This is not only very true about her but also regarding Liu and Culver. Monterey County may be a beautiful area but unfortunately is it not a pleasant place to practice law.

Comments:
Very surly and condescending judge with a bizarre fixation on minutia that have nothing to do with the case. The sad part about it is I get the impression that she has no self awareness or introspection on what a disservice she is doing to the legal community. Perhaps she just doesn't care. The legal community deserves better.

I try to do as little as possible in her courtroom.

Comments:
She is absolutely horrible and an abomination. I cannot stand her antics. People deserve better. She is one of the worst judges I have seen in over 25 years of practice as both a prosecutor and criminal defense lawyer. I refuse to do anything in front of her. I do not need the aggravation.

Prosecutor

Comment #: CA13545

Comments:
As a retired prosecutor I do agree with the negative sentiment expressed in these ratings. I do find a lot of fault with her demeanor. It is inexcusable and troubling. A lot of people have voiced similar complaints about her. Unfortunately, there has been no improvement in that area.

An excellent and fair minded judge.

I agree with the sentiment here by others. A horrible judge if you are on the defense. Avoid if at all possible.

Comments:
Here presence on the bench makes me sick and a lot of lawyers whether they are prosecutors or defense attorneys share that sentiment. I avoid her courtroom. I would much rather appear in a courtroom where a judge will treat all the individuals (prosecutors, defense attorneys, litigants, court personnel) with proper dignity and respect. I with deep regret do not find those attributes in her courtroom and it is very disturbing. Sad but true.

I do not like appearing in front of her and I avoid her. I have never had a positive experience in that courtroom in my many years of practice in Monterey County. It is not worth the aggravation

One of the worst courtrooms that I have ever been in. I found some of her actions personally and professionally offensive.
