Civil Litigation - Govt.

Comments:
Don't understand this judge. Law and motion? Just doesn't follow case law precedent. Completely ignored this for two different motions and won't take oral arguments under submission. Meaning? I'm always right. Lol. Listening to him in CLE? Same way in court, as in, "I'm always right, always more right, always rightest."

My first motion before him, said nothing throughout oral. Then adopted tentative. First judge I've ever seen say nothing during oral. Literally.

Judge Sueyoshi is incredibly lazy. He is also very full of himself and unjustifiably so. He and his staff do whatever they can to get the case off the docket, including using technicalities. Heaven forbid he/his staff actually have to do actual legal research and analysis on a substantive issue.

Judge Sueyoshi does not care about meting out justice, either. Neither he, nor his staff bother to look up the law or add law to his opinions that support his decisions (other than standard, boilerplate law for standards of review). Instead, what he does is try to dismiss cases based on technicalities (e.g., "Oh, you did not have a table of contents for this filing.")

Just another jurist who, despite having taken an oath to uphold the Constitution and mete out justice, collects his $200K+/yr paycheck, not bothering to do either. Sad and incredibly frustrating.

If he is assigned to your case, 170.6 him immediately if you can.

Comments:
Hyper-technical judge who is unwilling to put in the work to reach the conclusion that comports with well-settled law. Egotistical.

Terrible judge who doesn't care if innocentpeople die from radioactive metals recycled into consumer products in violation of California law. Case on appeal now. This Judge is completely pro-law enforcement. Unabashedly biased. Shame on him.
