She does not read any plaintiff papers or listen to any argument by plaintiff. She is stupid, incompetent, and not subtle in displaying her shocking bias and predetermination with no basis in fact, evidence or the law. This is truly the bottom of the barrel of the abysmal local bench.

A judge with good judicial temperament, but unfortunately a complete blindness to her own extreme prosecutorial bend. Perhaps one of the worst I’ve seen in a variety of counties in California—in part because of what seems to be her complete lack of awareness and thus inability to compensate for her extreme bias. A pleasant person who created (fortunately or not) a prosecutorial paradise. I have no personal knowledge of her experience as a trial lawyer. But my guess would be her experience as a jury trial lawyer is limited if she has any. This is based on the fact that she’ll jump into a lawyer’s (usually defense lawyers) presentation like a novice director clueless of the intricacies of such a presentation. She’ll impose arbitrary rules, placing court decorum over due process. She is antithetical to a trial lawyer’s judge and seems impervious to feedback and growth. On the exterior she is pleasant. But she seems utterly unaware of her penchant to be biased against both attorneys and defendants of color. Perhaps judge East is not interested or otherwise does not care about how the defense bar and defendant’s facing serious charges and time view her. However, it is a shame that a judge with such temperament would hold such high regard for form over substance and prosecutorial privileges over due process of law.
