Comments:
This judge will straight up sit and see how a case goes even though he knows it is (A) bunk (B) malicious litigation and/or (C) outside of his jurisdiction. His curiosity and inclination to dig deeper is out of his own ambition and not in the best interests of the parties. I dont think hes a bad judge, more like the power went to his head and he forgot that judicial deference is just that, deference. You cannot just straight up ignore 2dpt precedent just because you feel like it.

Does not grasp the law of collateral estoppel and the interplay between DHCR, the Courts, and other coordinate branches.

The previous post says it well. Hears both sides, very interested in the matters before him. Hard to read sometimes, but that's not a criticism by any means.

He has a unassuming nature. He asks probative and relevant questions. He a beacon in a system where there is a lot of darkness.
