This judge is easily bamboozled by fancy, overly oratorios lawyers who know they are covering up facts but just ramble on over him. He seems to take this performance to signal he better go along with their agenda. Maybe they make him feel inferior so clutches when it comes to decision time. The almighty buck always wins.

Shaller didn't even enforce his own legal orders. Extremely biased and predisposed against fathers seeking parental rights. I absolutely lost respect for him. I met with him and my attorney privately and it became obvious to us that he had already decided not to hear our point of view. I highly recommend that if you seek parental equity, find another legal venue. I don't think he deserves to be on the bench. As an aside, my sense was that he favored litigants from his own academic and cultural background.

This Judge in the 3 situations I have dealt with him in has shown himself to be [redacted] and even rude. In family court he has a very cavalier attitude when it comes to looking into a situation to do what is in the best interest of children. It seems to be worse when a black male is involved.

I tried a two week jury trial in front of Judge Shaller. he was very fair and even handed and let us try our case. About half his rulings went for Plaintiff and half for defense. His clerk was fantastic. He does tend to grant a lot of peremptory challenges for cause but is very fair

I feel very fortunate to have been involved in a case before Judge Shaller over the past two years. I have found him to do all his homework when preparing for a motion hearing. His rulings were always very clear and well-reasoned. He shows a lot of patience with attorneys that are not as prepared as he is or that have questions regarding his rulings. I have been impressed by his knowledge of the rules and the law and if I ever have to be in LASC again, would pray for him to be the Judge.

Judge Shaller comes off as true gentleman, a man of honor and fairness, but his court decision was not on factual evidence before him. For what ever reason he ignores or blinds himself for what is presented to him in to some new creation of his own reasoning for what he wants to rule on. Above all he continues to contradicts his own ruling on different motions. Inconsistent with law and blames all his mistakes on overwhelm with too many cases.

Judge Schaller is probably my favorite judge I have appeared before at Stanley Mosk. Very hardworking, issues thoroughly addressed in his tentative rulings, well informed decisions, and even-keeled temperament.

The only downside of getting a case assigned to him is that his docket is absolutely slammed. Be prepared for the fact that it will take you more than 6 months to get a motion hearing date. While he will try to keep the case moving by issuing trial dates at the CMC, he is generally flexible and understanding of how difficult it is to get a hearing in front of him.

If you get a case assigned to him, consider yourself lucky because he truly is the cream of the crop at Stanley Mosk.

A prince among judges. However, his clerk is THE MOST ABUSIVE human in the world. The courtroom attendant is also a devil-like creature. Even though the Judge has to work with human pimples; he maintains his composure and is kind as heck.

Judge Did not read papers and prejudged the motion refusing to listen to legal oral argument, based on a wrongful attitude of giving a Plaintiff inPropria Persona much greater consideration than if represented by counsel.

I will file a a 170.6 if ever presented with him again.

This judge clearly gives priority to the high-powered
attorneys that appear before him, over less prestigious attorneys. He isn't covert in his willingness to believe the words that come out of certain attorneys' mouths. I believe that he is capable of bias, and returns favors to his cronies.
