J. Waterman-Marshall shouts at litigants, seems always to favor counsel hailing from "Big Law" firms and to disfavor anyone litigating pro se. She glides past the pleadings, fabricating reason to strike whole pleadings rather than have to deal with separate claims and counterclaims individually. She is impatient, condescending and sometimes outrightly rude. She is incompetent in the matrimonial law and was recently transfered to the plenary part of the NY County Supreme Court, a place she had said to this litigant she wished to avoid, because "matrimonial cases are these neat little things." It is not unlikely that her background [Redacted by Ed.] in the Kings County housing court, then as a judge in that same court, before moving on the Family Court in Kings County, has had a lot to do with her disrepect for solo-attorney lawfirms and for pro se litigants, as well as her intolerance for anyone who might place an "extensive pleading" before her. This judge is [Redacted by Ed.] should be disbarred and removed from the bench. Pity that they didn't get to her before she ruined my case and did so by violating numerous statutes and rules, including the Chief Administrator's Rule of Judicial Conduct.

If you find yourself before her beware and be prepared, An unintelligent and lazy Judge. She most likely will not have read the papers and she will have a predetermined course of action based on which party has the most influence (via lawyers in her circle) and money. If neither party has bought influence then she will take the path of least resistance, which means a ruling which requires the least amount of work or legal reasoning on her part. This might mean simply ruling against the moving party with scant analysis. She will bring her own biases into play. Waterman will try to restate your argument on the record in her words to fit her predetermined ruling. Oral arguments before her are not a judge seeking to determine facts and apply the law but rather it is an exercise where a judge tries to trap a litigant (including pro se litigants) into her predetermined ruling be putting words in their mouth or by incorrectly restating positions and hoping to get away with it. An embarrassment to the bench.

Truly a horible human being. Divorce involves so many lives and children. She took me into a backroom and scolded me, said there is no chance for trail and settle ASAP or else. Big money and big law firm opposing counsel help "set up" this back room hustle. [Redacted by Ed.]

I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. She was extremely unfair, and decisions felt preplanned. Her rulings did not reflect the facts. if you get her, be warned.

I was extremely harmed by Judge Waterman handling of my case after it was transferred from Justice Sattler.

Judge Waterman ignored evidence of abuse and failed to read papers. Her behavior was hostile, creating an atmosphere of fear. No one should be afraid of going to court, but that's what happened in her courtroom.

Judge Kathleen Waterman Marshall is a disgrace to the profession. She essentially becomes the moneyed spouses most powerful lawyer, making sure to do anything to decide the case goes in their favor.

Over twenty complaints have been filed about Judge Waterman-Marshall since April, 2024. She is a vicious [Redacted by Ed.] who denies pro se litigants due process, separates parents from their children [Redacted by Ed.]. She needs to be disbarred.

Her honor is as good as they come. A class act who maintains a neutral temperament no matter what transpires in her court room. Her ruling was just and fair. She pays attention, reads the papers, and is an empathic individual. God bless.
