I did some research on this judge and found that she has absolutely no family law experience and it definitely shows. I question why they assigned her here. She is quite a disappointment compared to the previous 3 judges that were assigned to F46 who actually implemented consequences, prioritized 50/50 custody and coparenting, and actually LOOKED at the evidence. I have been before her 3 times so far. She does not enforce her own orders and basically lets the party that continues to break orders get away with it, is extremely lazy and does not want to make any changes even when the case circumstances warrant it, citing a universal “there’s no change in circumstances” for every case that goes before her and ignoring crucial evidence placed in front of her.

It’s mind boggling to make court orders you’re not going to enforce. This judge should not be in family law it’s evident that she could care less about what’s in the best interest of the child. If you get assigned to her, petition to switch departments ASAP, you are better off with literally anybody else.

I don't usually do this, but this review is absolutely warranted. Judge Richman is dangerous on the bench, she is condescending to counsel if she does not like you in the form of eye rolling, overruling objections with an eye roll, but most importantly on the substance of case I had in front of her, I represented a victim, clear case of domestic violence, aggressor admitted to the acts, acts caught on video, but what this Judge was attempting to do throughout the whole proceedings was to find ways to discredit the victim, the Judge openly acknowledged the video, the aggressor's admissions, but almost was telling us she found it justified because her issues with credibility, it was simply mind-blowing and reckless all at the same time. This is why women die out there because of Judges like Judge Richman, this is why individuals lose faith in the system, because of Judges like Judge Richman. She is dangerous and reckless, her future rulings will likely result in harm to either a kid or a domestic violence victim. Today, I am ashamed at what I witnessed. Tn my 13 years of practice, I have never once written a review, but today is the first time I feel it is warranted. If you get assigned to Judge Richman, 170.6 her immediately especially if you represent a woman, and if you happen to look like a middle eastern like myself ( I am of Indian descent) it almost felt like some borderline racism was taking place in the courtroom as well, rub for the hills.
