Hon. Beverly J. Cannone (Norfolk) Judge Cannone sickens me as a citizen. How she can preside over criminal matters baffles me. She rubber stamps commonwealth witnesses, yet will make the defense subject their experts to vigorous voir dires allowing the prosecution to essentially get a free crack at cross examination. She constantly overrules her own rulings. She completely ignored the claims of the defense in their motion to dismiss where a she says “the prosecution didn’t know about the video withheld from former trooper proctor” she said the reasons where unclear which eventually led to denying an evidentiary hearing. Ma”am if so something was unclear wouldn’t you want to clear that up by having an evidentiary hearing? She is rude, constantly sighs and punctuality is not her strength. She automatically believes everything the commonwealth says and automatically disbelieves everything the defense says. The perception is she is not an impartial judge. See motion to dismiss where she takes the opportunity to admonish the defense for pointing out misconduct of the commonwealth and she does not once acknowledge wrongdoing she simply brushes of the claims and say “she’s getting a 2nd trial” which does not absolve the commonwealth of their misconduct. Her brother represented an Albert for killing someone with a car and she rents her cottage to the Albert's and she has already decided Karen Read is guilty because corrupted officers say so. Hon. Beverly J. Cannone (Norfolk) A key player in the Court of Corruption of Norfolk County. She is dismissive towards fair rights, it seems unethical that she violates simple court procedures and policies, allowing altered evidence and blatant misinformation from the Prosecution’s special Defense Attorney. She blatantly flaunts her bias towards the defendant and her team by upholding her own standards for them, then allowing the Commonwealth to bring forward evidence that was clearly altered, “experts” who are not voir dired, allowing the prosecution/her judicial discretion to sew distrust and conspiracies against the entire legal system without any reproach or admonishment. The defense, protecting the rights of a person who is assumed innocent until found guilty in her court of law, are held to lofty standards that only apply to them. She is in no way fair and impartial, actually she gives confusing instructions as the first jury did not know the definition of reasonable doubt, and did not understand the charges brought OR how to fill out a hastily made voting form. It seems intentional that her opinions and close relationships are clouding her judgement. That seems like an absurdity as that ‘judgement’ is what makes her an actual “Judge” of the Superior Court. Her bias is affecting her decisions and rulings, sowing even more suspicion within the community and the entire State of Massachusetts. If she were truly honorable she would have recused herself in the beginning. Instead she seems even more corrupt than the corrupt citizens she is protecting. We are the laughingstock of the country, and I’m skeptical that I or anyone else in the Commonwealth would receive a fair trial with all of our Constitutional Rights upheld and protected as our Founding Fathers deemed reasonable and necessary so long ago. Terrifying that this miscarriage of justice in a court of clowns is able to proceed unhindered, with no fear or care of any consequences, because there are none. This sideshow should have been stopped as soon as the lead investigator was terminated, (in part for not investigating), if not months previously for numerous other adequate reasons. I implore you to uphold the truth of the law, citizen’s rights and constitutional justice as the people of Massachusetts are ashamed-and terrified- by this entire fiasco.
